Motivating Mondays

This is the first in the Motivating Monday design series! It was a dreary wet chilly day in Charlotte, NC and it's expected to be the same tomorrow.  I needed to warm things up! So this week starts with an olive and amber combination.  Amber accent lighting would transform any reception environment to create the aura of sunset in the distance. Use various olive hues to infuse the ambiance. Your guests will never conciously think "their colors are green and orangey" and will feel the tranquil warmth of the atmosphere.

Congratulations Erin & Jason!

At 4:00pm on Saturday Sept. 19, 2009 at the Indian Trail United Methodist Church, Erin Lail became Mrs. Erin Whitehead! And Jason ...well, he was already Mr. Jason Whitehead so he doesn't even have to practice his new signature - but I'll bet he would agree, he is now the complete Mr. Jason Whitehead.

They were brought together by "chemistry"- literally. They were chemistry lab partners in college! OK, I have to risk going off on a tangent - fabulous toasts were given by the best man Ron and Jason's Dad Roland and Erin's dad, Tony.  I was able to spend some more time with Tony at the rehearsal though so I know he had those "father of the bride nerves". But he conquered them and presented a gracious welcome to their guests to start the reception and his toast to his daughter and her new husband later that night was precious.  Tony said Erin and Jason have that other chemistry in common too! You know that chemistry that gives you goosebumps just to watch them dance?!

Oh, it was breathtaking! I really tried to capture their glow from across the room with my little Canon. Clary's Banquet Facility, in Indian Trail, NC was overflowing with that kind of chemistry on Saturday night. Chuck Clary can be proud of his young staff too. A great team!

Here are some highlights of what Erin and Jason planned and who made it happen-

Erin and Jason chose a rich, savory- coral and deep chocolate color palette. What Penny, Vicki and their floral crew fashioned was delightful! The tables donned a beautiful fragrant blend of roses, alstroemerias, hydrangeas, hypericum, green cymbidium and a variety of luscious leaves. Lots of floating candles and glass made the whole banquet room glisten!

Apollo Video's Angelo Politis has a passion for service. Just from talking to him, I know that will shine through in Erin and Jason's video. I enjoyed some shop-talk with him too. Looking forward to seeing the final production he creates.

Great live music!! All the guests enjoyed the band, Threshold from Rock Hill, SC. And I would be remiss to not mention that band leader Jamie Lee Hart was fabulous to work with. They were professional, entertaining and every planner's dream: flexible and prompt.

It was truly a blessing to serve Erin and Jason on their wedding day! I look forward to seeing the pictures taken by Sharon from Our Heritage, and hope to post a few here soon, but until then a couple more that I snapped myself will have to do!

.....and they lived happily ever after!
